Abstract

In the modern era, digital social engagement has become a significant component of students’ academic, emotional, social and behavioural development.
College-going students frequently use social networking platforms for communication, academic interaction, peer support, self-expression, entertainment and
information sharing. These digital engagements influence the way students understand themselves, manage emotions, build relationships, respond to peer pressure
and make responsible decisions. The present analytical study focuses on digital social engagement and management practices for strengthening socio-emotional
competencies among college-going students of Ludhiana and Amritsar. The study is based on a sample of 100 students, with 50 students selected from colleges of
Ludhiana and 50 students selected from colleges of Amritsar. The purpose of the study is to analyse the pattern of digital social engagement among students and
compare how management practices such as time management, responsible online behaviour, emotional self-regulation, academic discipline, peer interaction control
and digital literacy contribute to the development of socio-emotional competencies among both groups.
Socio-emotional competencies refer to the skills that help students recognize emotions, manage stress, develop empathy, maintain healthy relationships, communicate
effectively and make responsible decisions.
