Abstract

Copper ions are known to promote the process of angiogenesis. Numerous previous investigations have shown that the angiogenic potential of biomaterials is increased when copper salts are added. Numerous orthopaedic and dental implants that help patients lead better lives have used copper nanoparticles. Copper nanoparticles were dispersed in sterile distilled water and ultrasonicated for 30 minutes to obtain a homogeneous suspension. Different concentrations 5 10 25 50 and 100 µg mL were prepared for cellular studies. MTT assay LDH leakage assay DCF DA ROS assay RUNX2 ALP COL1 1 and OCN were analysed. These analyses showed increased activity. It is concluded that copper nanoparticles possess potent osteogenicity and biocompatibility. They can be developed into improved grafts or implants requiring osteogenicity and biocompatibility in future research.
