Abstract

 

Agriculture is still the foundation of India's economy, but farmers in rural areas struggle with issues like restricted market access, price tampering by middlemen, and insufficient timely access to crucial agricultural inputs. AgroKart is introduced as a novel online e-commerce platform aimed at closing this gap by linking farmers, consumers, and agricultural suppliers through a cohesive digital system. The platform allows farmers to purchase high-quality seeds, fertilizers, tools, and equipment, and also sell their products directly without intermediaries. Developed with contemporary web technologies—React.js, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, and Razorpay—AgroKart guarantees a smooth user experience featuring secure transactions, multilingual capabilities, and integration with government programs. It also offers workforce exchange services for rural employment and localized notifications for weather and market developments. Through providing farmers with transparency, ease of access, and equitable pricing, AgroKart enhances digital inclusion, boosts productivity, and supports sustainable rural economic growth.
